Mint and Wildflower Honey – from the Danube Delta (227g)

Wild flowers appear spontaneously in the flooded areas of the Danube Delta at the end of the summer. In these conditions, the bees collect nectar from several species, and in very good years, when the amount of mint is dominant (over 50%), the honey obtained can be considered mint honey.
It represents the last collection of the bees in the beekeeping season (August-October), it is reddish sometimes with greenish shades, with a specific aroma, bringing with it the aroma of musk, with a coolness at the end due to the mint.
It crystallizes finely, in the form of creamy honey.
With a unique creamy texture from wild aquatic mint and other floral nectars found in a river-delta nature reserve. The honey’s immediately rich taste quickly evolves floral tones emboldened by a dominant mint flavour, fading to a light, sweet finish.
The Mint and Wildflowers from the Danube Delta Honey is not mentholated!

Natural, Raw & Unprocessed

This honey is 100% natural, pure and unprocessed raw honey, meaning it retains its natural enzymes, antioxidants and delicate floral-mint profile. Its colour can range from reddish to greenish hues depending on the season and nectar sources, and it crystallises finely into a creamy texture that’s delightful on the palate.

Additional information

Ingredients

100% Raw Mint and Wildflower Honey

Flavour

Musk aroma, with a sweet-sour taste, with a coolness at the end due to mint.

Benefits

Pure honey is naturally high in antioxidants derived from nectar. Typically, 82% sugars (glucose and fructose), 18% ‘B’ vitamins and minerals. Raw honey is unheated during processing to avoid damaging these delicate, nutritious compounds which support a healthy immune system.

Storage

Honey is ideally stored at room temperature (around 18-22 Celsius) and need not be refrigerated to preserve it in top condition for up to two years. Exposing honey to temperatures above 35 C (hive temperature) from the sun or other heat sources can damage vitamin content and flavour, so please store out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. All natural honey will begin slowly to crystallise after a period of time dependent on its aromatic content. It can be used semi-set in the same way as when clear, but if you wish to return its clarity, place in a warm cupboard at 30-35 C and over a few days it will clarify.
